Nintendo DS was the successor to the Game Boys. Like many other Nintendo devices, Nintendo DS and Nintendo 3DS aimed to create a completely new gaming experience. Over time, old games were also re-released for the console – for example, Super Mario 64 DS, which for the first time allowed you to play as characters like Yoshi. Additionally, it had a whole range of other features – such as a media player.

The immediate successor to the Nintendo DS is the Nintendo 3DS. It has many of the same functions but with updated graphics and features. It gives the impression that things are "coming out" of the screen, which made it a success. Furthermore, several games were also re-released for it, including the popular Zelda: Ocarina of Time, which first came out for the Nintendo 64.
There is a huge selection of games for both Nintendo DS and Nintendo 3DS – both original games and re-releases. As previously mentioned, the re-releases included classics like Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Super Mario 64. Additionally, several versions of Mario Kart have been released – Mario Kart DS – which is exclusively available for the Nintendo DS.
