Sega... Sonic's original home turf. The Sega was one of the leading consoles on the market from 1983 – 2001 and produced its own unique games – such as Sonic the Hedgehog. Over the years, many versions of Sega consoles have been released. The first Sega was launched as a competitor to Nintendo. When Sega later released the Sega – Master System II - there were, just like in some of the original Sega Master Systems, games built into the console itself, first Alex Kidd in Miracle World and later Sonic.

With versions of the first Master System, even 3D glasses were included, which worked with some selected games.
